- Start git gui
- Go to menu panel: Help > About Git Gui
Output:
error: git-gui died of signal 11
Environment:
Debian 8 jessie amd64 KDE

Care to also share the output of
$ git gui --version
$ git --version
as I suspect this to come from git and git-gui not working well together.

FWIW v2.1.4 was released almost 2.5 years ago.
The crash does *not* happen with the version I am running here on Ubuntu
16.04.2 LTS with
git-gui version 0.21.GITGUI
git version 2.13.0.windows.1.460.g13f583bedb5
Tcl/Tk version 8.6.5
