What's cooking in git.git (May 2011, #02; Wed, 4)

Here are the topics that have been cooking.  Commits prefixed with '-' are
only in 'pu' while commits prefixed with '+' are in 'next'.

The main part of this cycle is expected to run thru May, aiming for a
feature freeze in early June.

We are in the middle of week #2 of this cycle.
