Yes, this is OK. I can work on the linker dependencies shortly after your patch is in. Basically it consists in compiling a testdir ./gnulib-tool --create-testdir --dir=../testdir1 --single-configure qcopy-acl acl copy-file qacl supersede with various configurations (acl, xattr, none) and see which link options are needed in which test programs.
