Bootstrapping, as well as repetition of autoreconf, with
Inetutils master at HEAD fails with both of
OpenIndiana: autoconf-2.69, automake-1.11.6, m4-1.4.16
Debian 8.8: autoconf-2.69, automake-1.14.1, m4-1.4.17
Gnulib: master HEAD

When changing to commit c5c965^ of Gnulib, autoreconf is
successful on both systems, allowing and leading to
complete builds of Inetutils.
Observe that the backstep is to the commit just before
the modification of m4/00gnulib.m4 which introduced
gl_COMPILER_PREPARE_CHECK_DECL.
Simon Josefsson produced a release candidate with an even
earlier gnulib snapshot than I can use to reach the success
as given above.
